This is another book that captured me by its cover, it is delightful. Here’s a brief description from the publisher, Harper Collins: “When Max Marshall arrived on the campus of the College of Charleston in 2018, he hoped to investigate a small-time fraternity Xanax trafficking ring. Instead, he found a homicide, several student deaths, and millions of dollars circulating around the Deep South.”
If you enjoy stories like Bling Ring or American Animals, or non fiction that reads like fiction, this is one for you. Max Marshall definitely brings the characters to life, including campus life at the College of Charleston. It feels unbelievable except it’s not, given the privilege of fraternities and the prevalence of drugs and alcohol on college campus.
I hope this becomes a move so it can read a wider audience.
